LyLo Queenstown offers pod rooms in shared dorms (4, 8, or 12 share) with a curtain, reading light, fan, USB ports, and a private locker under the bed. Private queen rooms come with an ensuite bathroom; some have a balcony overlooking the gondola, while others are windowless. The queen room is compact - one bed is pushed against the wall, leaving limited floor space for luggage. Also available is a family room with one king bed and one bunk bed, plus a private bathroom.

There is no restaurant or breakfast service. Guests can use the shared kitchen on the first floor, but it is small with only 8 stovetops and one microwave, and becomes crowded during peak times. On the top floor, Miss Lucy's cocktail bar serves drinks and has a pay-as-you-go beer tap. Private room guests receive free daily coffee from the bar. Vending machines are also located on the fourth floor.

The top floor common area includes a pool table, board games, a projector with books, and an outdoor terrace with a fireplace and views of the gondola. The hotel organizes free pub crawls, happy hours, and movie nights. There is also a games room. The rooftop deck is a social space, but is described as quiet rather than lively.

LyLo is a 1-minute walk from the supermarket and a 5-minute walk to the lakefront. The Skyline Gondola and Luge are 200 metres away. The DOC office and shuttle pick-ups for hiking trails are nearby. Bus route 1 (to the airport) stops close by. Free on-street parking is available overnight (6pm-8am) across the road; paid parking garages are also within walking distance.

The 24-hour front desk offers self check-in terminals and luggage storage (a $7NZD fee per day applies for stored bags). Laundry facilities are available (coin-operated, detergent for sale). Towels can be hired for $2NZD. The hotel provides key card access, CCTV, and lockers in the dorms. Hairdryers and straighteners are supplied in the female bathrooms. Disabled-access rooms and lift access are available.
